With substantial support from Ohio Third Frontier and corporations, foundations, civic organizations and individuals in the region, we are stimulating the growth of venture-worthy companies in information technology, bioscience and advanced manufacturing.

Since we began our investment activity in May 2007, CincyTech has:
  • Considered 815 investment opportunities.
  • Provided substantive advice to more than 150 companies.
  • Invested $4 million in 14 companies -- 10 in information technology and four in bioscience.
  • Helped local startup companies raise $66 million from seed- or early-stage venture investors.

Through December 2009, our portfolio companies had created 188 jobs at an average annual wage of $58,000. At this rate, our companies are on track to produce up to 1,000 jobs over the next eight years. At the same time, we will have expanded the region's entrepreneurial class with a new cadre of successful business leaders with the capacity to launch new firms, support the arts and other philanthropic activities, and assume civic leadership responsibilities.

In 2010, we expect to invest in at least five new companies and continue to work with local research institutions to commercialize promising technologies through startup companies.

Thanks to Ohio Third Frontier, which has committed millions of dollars to stimulate seed-stage investing across Ohio, including the Cincinnati region, there is money for entrepreneurs with high growth potential ideas. When the economy recovers, these companies should be well positioned for growth.
